Thomas Michael Geier Sr
AA BS MA
A graduate of Pueblo Jr. College and the University of Colorado, he was with the Boulder Vally School District for 32 years as a science teacher and district wide science coordinator. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Boulder for over 40 years, he volunteered, upon retirement for the Boulder County Social Services “Kids Friends” program. As such, he mentored the same single parent child for the next 17 years. Prior to moving to Vermont, he also served for three years as a volunteer staff artist for Colorado Childrenʼs Hospital, North Campus. A self taught artist, he specializes in oil landscapes, acrylic murals and graphite sketches. He is also author of “My Story Book,” (A children's write it your self picture book), the somewhat autobiographical “Paper Wings,” the geodesic dome “Biospace Project” curriculum guide and student handbook, along with magazine articles for publications such as “Science and Children.” He was honored in 1991 by the University of Colorado Chapter of ”Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society” for his work guiding students through building the components for and subsequent construction of large geodesic domes. These subsequently housed numerous environmental, physical and biological science/math projects through the designing, building and maintaining self-sustaining aquaculture systems.
